In 2003, the three Rothschild cousins Baron Benjamin, Baron Eric and Baroness Philippine came together for a brand new project: to create a world-class Champagne by combining the best terroirs with their broad expertise. The new house swiftly managed to secure contracts for an enormous 72 hectares of vineyards, with around half located in Chardonnay’s finest site, the Grand Cru Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, as well as in Avize, Cramant and Oger. With such great Chardonnay at their disposal it is no surprise that their main focus is on prestige Blanc de Blancs Champagne.

Whilst a NV Champagne is released every year, the Barons de Rothschild 2008 Blanc de Blancs is only the second single vintage released and it perfectly embodies the elegance and delicacy of Cote des Blancs Chardonnay enhanced by the richness and complexity delivered by this exceptional vintage. Made with a very low dosage of just 6 grams per litre, reflecting the house style of freshness and elegance.
 
This was the second vintage release, the 2010 was the first.
