In 1976, Bollinger Vintage was re-named Grande Année. Then in 1997, it became La Grande Année - 'The Great Year' - a name simple enough to illustrate its exceptional status, because only truly extraordinary years become vintage at Bollinger. This vintage is entirely fermented in oak barrel and is produced from thirteen crus: 95% Grand Cru and 5% Premier Cru.

The limited edition in the gift box rewards the long-standing connection and close connection of the French champagne house with the films of the Bond series. The design is based on the silencer of a Walther PPK, one of the pistols of 007 likes to use. A nice homage to the typical Bond, technological gadgets: The box opens only after entering the code "007" and short printing on the pistol emblem. Hidden inside a 75cl bottle Bollinger La Grande Année 2002 - the Cuvée de Prestige of the house, an exclusive assemblage of Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. This was also wrapped in a special bond design. The fluted pressure reminds a little of the handles of the pistols used by 007. The limited edition of the 50th anniversary of Bond has become a coveted collector's item.
