A unique Madeira wine, made from Boal grapes from the Vinha da Torre vineyard, regarded as one of the finest Boal vineyards on the island. The vineyard is based in Campanario, where Boal is king, and it has special significance for Barbeito, as the grapes produced there belonged to Mr. João dos Reis who was a close friend of the family. Since 2002, the vineyard is cultivated by his sons. A tribute to Sr dos Reis and his family, as well as to the friendship with the Barbeito Family, which grows stronger every year.

In July 2022, 1,109 bottles were filled, all individually numbered.

This wine was naturally aged in cask and bottled in its purest state. To show it at its best, serve between 13/14ºC. This wine was filtered and does not require decanting, and it will drink well for several months, if not years, after opening – Madeira is almost indestructible! The sample I tasted recently had been open for 5 months, and had reportedly not changed at all since opening!

A bright golden colour. Fresh and floral aromas with notes of pine, apricot, ripe citrus fruits, white sultanas, caramel and candied fruit. Balanced acidity, fresh and spicy, with layers of citrus flavours, nutty notes candied ginger and salted caramel. Extremely long and persistent on the finish, and so balanced it is hard to believe this has nearly 20% ABV.
